Autumn Delights
#1: Charcoal Cheddar
Originally created by Michael Lee Fine Cheese to celebrate the miners strike. This was one of the first mature cheddar cheeses blended with natural charcoal, it’s a real talking point - fabulously tasty but also rather dark and dramatic - perfect for when evenings are drawing in… (V+P)
#2: Smoked Brie
Take a beautiful, innocent brie and subject it to the anguish of a smokey fate! This is a full bodied, clean, creamy and slightly lactic French brie with a hint of tanginess and nice mushroomy aroma - but naturally smoked. Bonfirey and delicious! (V+P)
#3: Kidderton Ash
A silky-smooth goats cheese made with their own goat’s milk by Butlers farmhouse dairy. Each cheese is coated and matured with ash for a distinctive finish that is furry and speckled, giving Kidderton Ash a spectacle of contrast in colour, texture and taste. (V+P)
#4: Cornish Truffler
Made by artisan cheesemakers tucked away in the heart of Cornwall, the Truffler has a unique earthy, robust and moreish flavour with its wild truffle tones. It won Gold at British Cheese Awards 2024! Creamy and moreish (V+P)
#4: Cotherstone
Once discontinued this is now back - Sweet, lactic and the perfect accompaniment for anything fruity! Its revival is rather thrilling for crumbly cheese enthusiasts, who
can now once again savour the distinctive taste of this traditional
Yorkshire cheese.(V+P)
#6: Red Windsor
Long Clawson dairy’s Red Windsor is characterised by its unique infusion of wine, port, and brandy, which imbues it with a lush pink hue. The cheese’s distinctive look is further enhanced by the white marbling. All that booze adds a fruity dimension to the cheese, enriching its overall flavour. (V+P)
#7: Harrogate Blue
Made by the wonderful Shepherd’s Purse creamery in Thirsk, North Yorkshire, this cheese is a perfect introduction to blue cheeses, with the addition of annatto to give it a wonderful orange colour. (V+P)
#8: Rutland Red
The only pasteurised Red Leicester produced in the county of Leicestershire Rutland Red is an award winning cheese winning three golds at the Global Cheese Awards. A glorious colour, rich, nutty but sweet with the caramel tones of annatto - the additive that gives it those glowing autumnal hues! (V+P)
